Privacy Policy

We collect as little as we can: enough to sign you in with Discord, show your reviews and listings, and keep the marketplace honest. We don't sell your data and we don't run ad trackers.

01What we collect

From Discord when you sign in

  • your Discord user ID, username / display name, avatar and email address;
  • an access token with the identify, email and guilds scopes. “Guilds” lets us list the servers you own or manage so you can prove ownership of a group. We never read messages or post in your server.

From Telegram, if you sign in with Telegram or link it

  • your Telegram user ID, username, first/last name and profile photo link, as signed by Telegram's login widget. We don't get your phone number.
  • if you verify a Telegram group or channel with our bot: its chat ID, title, public @name and member count. The bot only looks for your one-time code; we don't store the group's messages.

What you give us

  • group listings, owner profiles, reviews, reports and saved groups / follows;
  • any messages you send us, including “Talk to a person” requests from the help assistant (your email, the message, an optional group link and your last few chat messages with the assistant).

Automatically

  • basic request data (IP address, browser, pages requested) in server logs and in short-lived rate-limit counters used to stop spam and abuse;
  • a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

02How we use it

  • to sign you in and show your name and avatar next to your reviews and listings;
  • to verify that you own or manage a Discord server or Telegram group/channel you list;
  • to calculate trust scores, moderate listings and handle reports;
  • to prevent spam, fraud and abuse (for example, rate limits and account-age checks);
  • to contact you about your listings, reports or account.

03What's public

Your display name and avatar appear on reviews you write. Owner profiles and approved listings are public. Reports are never shown publicly with your name; moderators see who filed them. Your email address, Discord token and Telegram ID are never shown.

04Who we share it with

We don't sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that run Signal Nation for us:

  • Vercel (hosting) and our database provider (Neon or Supabase) that store the data;
  • Discord, when you sign in and when we check which servers you manage;
  • Telegram, when you sign in with Telegram and when our bot verifies a group or channel you run.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it or to protect users from fraud or harm.

05How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. Rate-limit counters expire within a day. Questions the help assistant couldn't answer are kept for 90 days as text only (emails and phone numbers removed, not linked to your account or IP address) so we can improve the help center. Moderation records (such as upheld reports and admin actions) are kept as long as needed to keep the marketplace honest, even after a listing is removed.

06Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data by emailing hello@signalnation.com from the address on your account (or tell us your Discord username). You can also revoke Signal Nation's access in Discord under Settings → Authorized Apps. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including complaining to your data protection authority.

07Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with our hosting and database providers. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we'll tell you.

08Children and changes

Signal Nation is not for anyone under 18. We'll post changes to this policy here and update the date above. See also our Terms of Service.
